Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a... oh you know the rest!
Look, I’m not exactly a big fan of the guy but even so, I believe that the Man Of Steel deserves a better deal.
Superman, like his red cape and underwear or not, is an icon. And he deserves some bleeding respect.
What am I talking about? Well, only the latest rumour concerning yet another reboot attempt!
Yup people, the internet is abuzz with the news that Warner Bros. intends to bring the Man Of Steel back to the big screen AND check this out, it appears the studio has tapped Christopher Nolan (director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight), David S. Goyer (writer on BB, TDK and creator of ABC’s FlashForward) amd Jonah Nolan (Chris’s brother and writer of Memento and TDK) to lead the reboot team.
Firstly, lemme just say that I’m a big Chris Nolan fan and am of the opinion that TDK is one of the best movies OF ALL TIME! Having said that, I’m not sure what WB intends to achieve by hiring the two Nolans and Goyer. And especially so if this bit that appeared on Dark Horizons, which quotes an unnamed source, is true: “I can tell you that Goyer’s story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology.”
Why am I skeptical? Well, ’cause the story seems almost identical to the one director Kevin Smith pitched to WB in the '90s, that’s why.
Anyways, WB hasn’t made an official announcement as yet, so let’s just wait and see, shall we. However, if you are reading this Dave Goyer, allow me to make a suggestion -- Alan Moore’s Whatever Happened To The Man Of Tomorrow!
