Start Ta Ta Talking Bout, Blah Blah Blah

A star in the making?

What can you expect to get out of the hit reality TV show American Idol besides talented singers? Well, probably some talented… uhh…eccentrics? (Like William Hung perhaps.)

When Simon Cowell said he wanted to make this year’s American Idol (Season Nine) bigger and better, had he any idea that it could possibly be in the form of a contestant from Atlanta? We all know that this won’t be the only big thing for AI this year but heck, for now, this will do!

Self proclaimed four-star general in the civil rights movement, Larry Platt, marched into the audition room with one song and only one song in his head – Pants On The Ground. Little did he know that the song, an original, would then be in the heads of all four of the Idol judges, with Simon saying that he had a feeling Pants would be a hit. Though Larry didn’t get through the initial audition due to his age (he was 62-years-old), he is already wanted for a major TV interview on ABC’s The View on January 18.

Check out his audition below.

Warning: Possibility of getting Pants On The Ground stuck in your head.
