Start Ta Ta Talking Bout, Blah Blah Blah

As the world continues to mourn the death of Michael Jackson (and mystery persists to shroud his death), it’s become more apparent than ever that the man and his music transcended boundaries or race, religion and nationality.

Twenty-eight million copies of Thriller have been sold in the U.S. alone. But that was the figure last week...

A brief check of the iTunes and Amazon.com music charts (which are updated hourly) reveal that Michael’s death has rejuvenated sales of his music.

21 of the 22 iTunes album charts have MJ at the top. And even though Shiina Ringo’s Sanmon Gossip is No.1 in Japan, it’s followed closely by The Very Best Of Michael Jackson With The Jackson 5 at No. 2.

Over at Amazon, No.s 1-10 on the Music Bestsellers list belong to Michael. His vids too have been selling like hotcakes with the top five in the Music Video & Concerts category going to the man’s releases.

The Telegraph of U.K. reports that the Official U.K. Charts Company expects a surge in sales with Number Ones almost certainly assured of the top spot when sales are tallied today.

And Billboard too is bracing itself for MJ’s records to shake up its charts once again. Billboard reports: To compare, last week’s No. 1 on the Catalog chart was tobyMac's Portable Sounds with 9000 copies sold. Sources say that at least one of Jackson’s albums sold more than double that amount just on Thursday.
